ConnectTherapy

ConnectTherapy™ at RedoHealth

At RedoHealth, we understand that your body is more than a collection of parts—it’s a connected system. ConnectTherapy™, developed by Canadian physiotherapist, researcher, and educator Dr. Linda-Joy (LJ) Lee, takes a total body, whole-person approach to your pain, injuries, and movement challenges.

It’s All About Connectedness

ConnectTherapy™ is based on the principle of connectedness—how different regions and systems of the body influence each other, how your body and mind interact, and how therapists and patients collaborate. Everything is linked:

  • How a past ankle sprain may affect your shoulder or neck today

  • How a chest infection and recurrent coughing can alter your core function and contribute to low back pain

  • How asymmetrical upper body movement can affect pelvic floor function

  • How emotional stress changes your body chemistry and can increase pain

Movement and exercise aren’t just for your body—they’re vital for your brain and overall wellbeing.

In ConnectTherapy™, we look beyond your symptoms to uncover the underlying causes of your pain. These root areas are called Drivers.

A Driver may or may not be painful, but it’s an area of dysfunction that sends “misinformation” to your nervous system or creates non-optimal forces in your body. When we treat your Driver, like a master key, we can unlock new options for freedom, efficiency, and ease of movement.

Our process starts with Finding Your Driver Profile—a comprehensive assessment that identifies the regions of your body that influence your symptoms the most.

  1. Your Story: We begin with your medical history, past injuries, activities, and sports you’ve participated in. Your goals and “Meaningful Activities” guide everything we do—from simple tasks like sleeping to complex movements like swinging a golf club.

  2. Whole-Body Assessment: We observe your body during your Meaningful Tasks to identify areas that aren’t supporting your performance. This means looking beyond painful areas to find underlying dysfunctions.

  3. Active Participation: As we assess, we make temporary adjustments to your body and track how these changes affect your movement, symptoms, and overall function. This process is documented in the Drivers Diagnostic Chart™, a unique tool created by Dr LJ Lee.

By identifying and supporting your Drivers, you’ll not only reduce symptoms but also experience how much easier your body can move.

Addressing Influences Beyond the Body

We know pain and movement limitations aren’t just physical. Emotional stress, sleep quality, nutrition, and lifestyle habits can all influence how your body functions. ConnectTherapy™ helps you understand these influences and explore strategies—like mindfulness and healthy habits—to support your rehabilitation.

Once your Drivers and key influences are identified, our therapists design a personalized treatment plan using the techniques best suited to your needs:

  • Manual therapies such as myofascial release and soft tissue work
  • Dry needling & muscle activation for overactive muscles
  • Progressive exercise programs to retrain movement patterns and strengthen your body
  • Self-management tools: ConnectTherapy™ Reset Exercises empower you to maintain progress

We also provide ConnectTherapy™ Reset Exercises, empowering you to self-manage flare-ups and maintain your progress.

  • Everything is connected: Joints, muscles, nerves, emotions, and daily habits all influence your movement.
  • Drivers: We treat the underlying causes of pain, not just the symptoms. Think of them as the “master keys” to unlock your body’s potential.
  • Individualized approach: Your goals, activities, and lifestyle guide every step of your treatment

Your Body, Your Goals, Your Program

ConnectTherapy™ isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach.
We design a program specifically for your body, your story, and your goals.

ConnectTherapy™ is about more than symptom relief—it’s about opening up new options for your body, retraining non-optimal movement patterns, and giving you the tools to take control of your health.

  • We consider stress, sleep, nutrition, and lifestyle—all of which influence your pain and movement.
  • We give you strategies and exercises to support long-term health and performance.

Your story, your body, and your goals are unique. Let us create a program specifically for you with ConnectTherapy™, so you can move better, feel better, and be better.
